Cafe Henri

This French cafe is unpretensious (not that I think French people are pretensious, but I sometimes find French restaurants in other countries to be so, because they have some idea of what French things should be like) but well, how can I put this, yummy :P

They do all kinds of crepes, nice steak, sandwiches, soups, you can even get a cheeseburger if you feel that way inclined. They do really yummy hot drinks that have things like rum with honey in them. OOOh and the chocolate mousse is worth stepping over your dead poodle for!

This was recommended to me by my french roommate.

The other great thing about it is if you are heading there from my place in greenpoint, you get a lovely walk over the pulaski bridge (lovely view if you don’t mind the cold winds, speeding cars, and ‘jaws of death’ gap in the bridge that opens when cars pass over it), which makes up for the chocolate mousse you ate.

The last time I went there there was this jazz band playing which was cool, but then when this harmonica player joined them it really added something special to the music.

It’s not fine dining, it’s just good french food.
