Valdez

Very very pretty and great if you fish or sail… other then that…. worth visiting once….

I loved valdez, we were there for maybe 2 weeks that were broken up. I loved the halibut at the halibut house and mikes pizza was the best I have ever had.
went fishing in alisons bay, and caught A lot of salmon, and I also jigged for cod out in prince william sound, caught a lot of rock bass (my favorite), and nearly caught a halibut with a mouth as big as a dinner plate (it followed my lure up and as my uncle leaned over to pull it into the boat it unhooked itself). saw lots and lots of sea otter. there are some beautiful waterfalls in valdez too. oh, there were lots and lots of eagles too.

Was there in 1996. Spent the evening in Joe’s Place drinking and talking to the locals. GREAT bar, GREAT people.

My absolute most favourite place in Alaska that I’ve been…I still dream about this place. I miss it.

It’s worth the time it takes to get there if that means anything. I love it! I’d live there if I could.
