Worth visiting!

A review of this place: A place to be cherished

Why? – first and foremost for human reasons! After a rough time with a number of lairds [owners] the residents of this little island managed to buy Eig themselves. They were the first community to achieve this but have been folowed by others.

The island can be visited from Arisaig or Mallaig; there is then a minibus up the island, that gives easy access to a great beach. However, you may prefer to go up the Sgurr of Eigg, a viwpoint from afar and a place to get supreme views despite its relatively low stature. [see Mallaig]
