Goonies House

I grew up about a block from The Goonies house. My parents were so excited when the movie was filmed there. They got to really be part of the filming, as they watched from their “front row seats”. They even got to meet a number of stars and, of course, Steven Speilberg. An artist later painted a “Goonies picture” on the outside of their house, which is still there, but my parents aren’t.

The location is on the map at the Astoria visitors center. It’s near the main road and easy to get to.

Drive to the dead end and you will see the gravel driveway to your left. Park there (don’t drive up the gravel) and walk up to the Goonies house. It’s changed owners and they’re really nice about people who walk up.

It’s cream with lots of flowers now.
