Egilsstaðir

Overnighted here during our group tour of Iceland. We visited the local swimming pool and relaxed in the hottest of the “hot pots” (thermal pools) – blissful!

This little town is a very clean and a very green place to visit. The great thing about this area are all the trees. Forests in Iceland exisit in eastern Iceland. If you want to camp next to great lakes, green trees, and grass, this area is the place to be.

Very green, very pretty little town. There is not much to really do here as it is a very small town, but it is a good base if you want to see the Eastern forests of Iceland. The people are very friendly here and life is very, very laid back. If it is peace and relaxation you want, this is the place. There is a beautiful camping ground at Hallorstadur.
