It’s not called ‘Azul’ for nothing, it is amazingly blue. I didn’t go to any other Cenotes (I didn’t have time), but (staying in Playa del Carmen) when we asked the guy at our hotel, he said if you only see one, go to this one.

It cost something like $5 for entry, and $3 for a mask and snorkel, and $5 for fish food if you wanted to feed the fish.

You can swim and snorkel there, or just walk a little around the surrounding jungle. It’s just really pretty, and a great way to relax on a hot day, not too crowded. There were fossils of coral, and cacti growing out of tree roots and hanging down.

Just up the road, before the big resort, was a great restaurant with good food and a friendly guy who told us about everything in the world all in an hour or so.
