The Detroit Zoo

I love the Zoo, and never get bored. The butterfly house – exquisite, the polar bear underwater tunnel – coolest thing EVER, lions tigers and bears oh my and worth the trip. Sadly the elephants are gone, and I think the Rhinos too, but the Giraffes are beautiful, the peacocks everywhere (pesky mean birds!) and everything is fun. Plan to spend a afternoon, and if you’re bringing the kids, a whole day.

My grandma would take all us grandkids every summer when we were kids and I never got sick of it. It was actually a highlight of each summer.

I grew up going to the Detroit Zoo and can remember all the funny zoo commercials as a kid. The Detroit Zoo has lots to offer- definitely check it out!

Best time to go is the spring..mating season so animals aren’t in hiding and DO NOT go on a sunny day..the animals are actually out other days.

A must see!

I’ve been going to the Detroit Zoo since I was a young child and am pleased to see that it is on the upswing in recent years. There are alot of dedicated people who invest their time and money into this Park. The Penquin House is definately one of my favorite spots to catch.

I went to the Detroit zoo with a friend for my 21st birthday. It was very crowded (during the summer) but was enjoyable none-the-less. The train was a lot of fun to ride (we missed the polarbear exhibit the first time through) and it was definitely was good exercise to walk through all of the exhibits. I enjoy zoos so this is probably one I will visit again!
