A review of this place: Underground Wine
Davy’s is a wine merchant that owns a number of wine bars around London. The one on Creed Lane, located between St Paul’s and Blackfriars, is an underground affair decorated in a traditional style, with white walls, dark wood panelling and tables complemented by empty bottles nonchalantly lying on shelves. As you would expect, it has a very nice wine list. The first price wines may be slightly more expensive than in pubs but at least you can rely on their quality. They don’t offer extremely expensive wines either, as the place is really meant for people who want to just enjoy a nice vintage in a nice atmosphere rather than for those who want to show off by buying a £300 bottle on their platinum credit card. Similarly, the Champagnes they offer are very good brands that are not overpriced, including one of my favourites.
