Detroit Electronic Music Festival

but i hated it. i hated detroit,i hated demf, and i hated the entire weekend.

Ahhh DEMF, my home away from home. Best techno I have ever experienced. Thank you, thank you. I had such a blast at Movement this year…I got two T-shirts to prove it :). Took so many pictures and saw so many talented artists that I don’t even know where to start giving kudos.

I just loved getting up each day and knowing that I was going to see a full day of more artists, would get to dance until I couldn’t anymore and would get to fuck around and talk to some of my closest friends whilst it all happening. Great food, nice staff and a lot of room to move around in the Hart Plaza. There’s even a giant waterfall right in the center. People who brought their kids to the event would bring them there to play when the heat got to be too much. Smart cookies they are.

I know I would love to go back again, but since I’m having a child soon, that will not be possible for at least another year or two. But don’t worry, DEMF…I will grace you with my presence again one day, and together we can make great memories once more.

I will be shooting at the event for the online magazine Resident Advisor so you’ll find me all over during the three days of the festival. I have partnered with the Electronic Music Showcase being held at 150 Lounge just 3 blocks from the entrance to DEMF. You’ll be able to buy prints of photos taken at a table there.

I just got my tickets for this years festival, staying downtown at the hilton. it will be a nice homecoming to be downtown the whole time.

I went to DEMF 2000 at Hart Plaza. It was HUGE!! Quite the experience. The drive from Kitchener (1 hour west of Toronto) wasn’t bad either.

I’ve been blessed with press access in 2005 and 2006 and have met many performers. My circle of contacts continues to grow. My website Fuzzytek.com has a few thousand photos taken at this annual event.

One of the biggest parties held in Detroit that attracts people from around the world. After-hour parties at all the clubs in Detroit boast the names of techno pioneers and new comers. All flavors of electronica music can be found around this festival.
