Worth visiting!
The first time I went to this place
The distillery architecture is eyecatching- Spanish Mission Style! Our guide said that the architect was given free reign when constructing the place, and being from California he was inspired by the missions that dot the coast. Definitley not something I was expecting to see while in Kentucky.
The tour is fairly quick, so no need to worry about spending a large portion of your afternoon here. By the way, the Four Roses Distillery was open when the Wild Turkey Distillery was not. Call ahead to Wild Turkey if you plan on going there as their website was inaccurate for tour times (Winter hours are different thatn regular hours). Luckily, Four Roses has weekend tours, so we were able to visit!
Our guide told us that you can only buy Four Roses Bourbon in Kentucky and overseas, so buy a bottle when you visit. Also, there is a bourbon tasting at the end of the tour, except on Sundays, so plan ahead if you are interested in this part of the tour.
