Worth visiting!
The Rivierenhof (_Garden of Rivers_)
My family has been visiting this wonderful park for generations. The park keeps popping up when flipping through old photos: my grandparents in their twenties having a picnic, my aunts first communion, my dad as a toddler, an myself as a baby and preschooler. I have many fond memories of the Rivierenhof.
The Rivierenhof is layed out as a natural woodland park, with several lakes and streams crossing it. The domain also hosts sport clubs. There’s a ‘castle’ in the middle where you can have a drink or snack. There are playgrounds and minigolf, a rosegarden, and a small botanical garden. You can fish and feed bread to the ducks and geese that roam around the lakes. There are a lot of rhododendrons planted in the park, so the nicest time to visit is in spring when they’re in bloom. In another corner of the park you can find an open air theater. During the summer months there are (open air) concerts hosted here at night, a really special experience.
