i went to wilde lake high school for the three months i lived in columbia. spent a lot of time walking from village to village, was friends with danny from mop attack and learned how to shoplift at the mall. wilde lake gave away free tickets to see no doubt and the black eyed peas at the stadium and it rained. i remember this girl from my science class named liz mud wrasslin everyone. then i moved far far away to evil mississippi and now i’m still in the south, just one state over.

I love the area but it is to expensive for me. It has so many
green areas (parks). I now leave in Asia, dirty Asia. Columbia was so clean with emmissions testing for cars and lots of green areas to deperse pollution. All you people that leave their and hate it, you didn’t know how lucky you are!

Columbia used to be this obscure idea of livin gin harmony with all different cultures and classes and types of people. It sucked at first; the town seemed like a bunch of whiny complainers. People from Columbia had not culture or class. Now that the town in over 30 years old, it seems to be growing on me. There’s more histrory and it turns out there are lots of different people living in Harmony there. It was also named the best small city to line in the East by Money Magazine. The schools are rated some of the best in the US.

Worth visiting!
Columbia is worth visiting, if only to marvel at the bizarre street names. Each neighborhood has street names taken from the work of a famous author or poet, and many of them are downright entertaining.
Examples: Fox Grape Terrace, Mending Wall, Cloudburst Hill (all in Running Brook, the Robert Frost neighborhood). Other notable neighborhoods include Dorsey Hall (street names from Oliver Wendell Holmes), Dickinson (street names from Emily Dickinson), and Hobbit’s Glen (take a wild guess).
Oh! And there are so many trees that you can’t see the buildings, except in winter, when all the leaves fall off.

I grew up in New York City and loved it. I know live in Columbia and it is a different type of love. A love for the fact that I can walk less than 3 blocks and be in my own private utopia. Trees, lakes and peace. Away from the hustle and bustle of my regular work day. Living here has shown me a quieter side of life..but a wonderful part.

Columbia itself is the very model of a Stepford suburb,
but Daedalus Books Warehouse with it’s glam coffeetable art books for pennies on the dollar puts Columbia on the map for any bibliophile between DC and Baltimore. Don’t miss!

Not worth it!
At any time if the opportunity were to arise, I would leave at a moments notice to travel elsewhere.

Columbia is great. It’s clean, safe, relaxed and has a surging underbelly of pent up lunacy. And four man-made lakes!
