Victor Steinbrueck Park

Whiled away the time here with either lunch or a latte on a few occasions. You don’t realise quite how high up you are until you look over the railing and see the Alaskan Way viaduct below you.

This is my favorite park in Seattle. The people watching here cannot be beat. You’ve got the drug dealers, the cheap stolen battery guys trying to sell you stuff, guitar players, the classic hippy guy with the shades, tourists who ask each other if the ferries are cargo ships, the crazy lady who eats your left overs, the pot smokers, the guy with the stunt bike, the cruise ships below, the water, the sunset, the grass, and so much else.

Almost all of the major decisions in my life have been made while sitting alone in this park.

The first time I went to this place, I didn’t realize that there was a big road between the park and the water. It was quite a view I must say, and it was a nice day right after the big storm, and a week before Christmas.
