Wajima

Wajima is off the beaten track a little but it is worth seeing if you have time on your hands and is about 2 hours north Kanazawa, which is a little more touristy. Many Japanese tourists visit Wajima as the town is small but very famous for it’s beautiful lacquerware craft. The locals are not used to seeing westerners but they are friendly once they get to know you.
Wajima also has famous rice fields and some hot springs too. And if nature is your thing, Wajima is surrounded by mountains with some good walks and views of the ocean.
