Amantani

As part of a trip with Exodus in September, 2005, my wife and I stayed a night at a homestead on this island. Our group of 20 was divided up to stay with different people.

These Chechua people spoke a little Sapnish [they now teach it in school] and only a few words of English but they were most hospitable and made every effort to communicate. We nejoyed the local food and it was a great experience.

On Sunday nights there is a dance in the village hall for visitors and their hostesses.
