Grand Coulee Dam

Much more interesting than I expected it to be!

I was not familiar with the Grand Coulee Dam until a friend in Seattle suggested that I might want to stop by on my drive to Spokane. It was totally worthwhile. It is a sight to behold, an unbelievable feat of engineering. Apparently all the pyramids at Giza could fit inside of the dam. No photo can capture the monumental size and vastness of the dam. That thing is just plain huge. Equally cool is learning about what the dam does for irrigating East-Central Washington, and the geologic history of how the unique terrain was formed. I am looking forward to taking my son here someday soon.
