Tucked in the north end of down town Walnut Creek is this cheerful breakfast-lunch-dinner restaurant. Busy, especially on weekend mornings. Breakfast is served until 3p.m. Ten variations of egg Benedict make Katy’s Kreek worth the wait, as do the Swedich pancakes and cheese blintzes, both topped with fresh seasonal berries. Katy’s Kreek is certainly homey, cozy, komfy with the feel of European pub. With owners from Reykjavik, it has children’s playroom, for nights when Mom feels like having a Long Kiss Goodnight Martinis. Full bar and wine list. www.katyskreek.com

Mmmm... by thatdamnken

In a city full of wonderful shopping and dinner restaurants, we were sadly lacking in breakfast places. Along comes Katy’s and changes all that. Great food and a beautiful, relaxed interior.

The breakfast potatoes (carbs make life worth living…) are wonderful.
