A review of this place: Beautiful. Uncomfortable. — 1 year ago
Not worth it!
A friend told us about this place she had walked through, but not stayed at. Reviews, their own hype, and Internet images lured us into arranging to stay here. It is gorgeous. We enjoyed every meal in the tranquil courtyard restaurant. But the room was cramped and cold, the mattress like something from the 15th c. We even managed to get an upgrade to a room with a whirlpool. “Ha!” No, make that, “HA!” The grout and tile work was uneven and abrasive. But best (worst) of all, the just-hotter-than-lukewarm water came out at a drip. I was determined to get a good soak, so one night, I turned the water on full trickle as we were leaving for a walk into town for dinner. Three hours later we returned to a tepid, quarter-filled tub. If you’re going to shell out mucho dinero for a room, avoid this villa … but do stop by for a meal!
