Atascadero

Take a walk up to Atascadero and position yourself in front of a view of Parque Juárez below in time to watch the egrets fly in at dusk to roost for the night in the treetops. Breathtaking. We discovered this spectacle quite by accident, then the following afternoon, made a point of strolling in the park to see the drama from the other end. Speaking of “the other end,” be careful not to stand directly under the trees the birds are landing in!
