Eurostar

I remember how excited and happy I was when I took the escalator down from the main rail concourse to the brand new Eurostar terminal. It was so easy and comfortable and took you from the heart of one city to another in 3 hours. After that first journey I was a complete convert to train travel.

Now that Eurostar operations have moved to St. Pancras, the Eurostar Waterloo terminal has been boarded up. When I was passing through the other day, I peeped over the balcony rail – it looked so sad and empty below.

The eurostar is just the best way of getting from London to Paris. Forget flying. Because with the eurostar you arrive slap bang in the middle of Paris at Gare de Nord. So you don’t have to get a bus or taxi to wherever because you can just take the metro!
