Landmannalaugar

I’m a landscapes gal – and the scenery here is meant to be spectacular. There are natural thermal springs, colourful rhyolite mountains and lava fields. There is a famous 4 day trek (Laugavegur) from here to Porsmork which involves fording rivers that I’d love to attempt one day.

This place is amazing and it’s a great a base to hike from. The mountains around are really colorful and the contrasts of colors ranging from yellowish-white to black and red is pretty cool. The popular Laugavegur hike runs from here to Þórsmörk and many people start it here.
