Where to get online

I was at a cafe in Bondi and I asked if they had Wi-Fi. I was met with a blank stare, and they told me they didn’t know what I was talking about. I then though to ask about ‘Wireless Internet’, which they understood, and knew they didn’t have.

Free Wifi is about as common here as ice with your water, however, it’s not too had to get online. The McDonald’s had Telstra’s Wifi, for which you have to pay $0.20 per minute for. However, most places it’s fairly easy to find an Internet cafe.

This cafe has a decent Internet connection, but very old computers. Fortunately, you can plug in your own laptop for the same price. I was able to my a Skype call just fine from here and upload a bunch of photos.

All the computers here had VNC installed, which I’m sure makes it easier for them to administrate, but creeped me out that the attendant might be watching your screen without you knowing.
