Boulder Falls

if you walk to the end of the path (boulder falls is not a hike….it’s a short path) you can actually climb up behind the falls, you will see some people doing it, though we aren’t supposed to. there’s soo much more to the falls than what you get at the end of the carved path if you climb into the mountain.

I’ve been here four times in the one year I lived in Colorado: once hiking with friends from school, once with my mom and sister when they visited, once with some friends from high school who visited, and once right before I graduated and moved back.

It is such a beautiful place, definately a must-see if you are a tourist (or even resident!) and especially if you are big into nature or photography!

There is a hiking path along the stream, stairs carved into the mountain, but mostly it is all natural.. be careful though, there is a spot where you walk across a flat sloping piece of rock, and for some reason the rail isn’t there, so I could see how it wouldn’t be too difficult to fall into the stream (which is moving pretty fast!). But once you get up to the top (not too far) you can see the waterfall, and even climb down right in front of it (fun in the summer, kind of cold in the winter).

I want to say it is west of Boulder, you take one of the roads (Canyon, perhaps?) and it takes you winding through the mountains and it will be on your right, there is a nice parking spot across from it. :)
