Laid back atmosphere. Tuesdays are fun for the poetry slam event.

Thanks, Daniel, loved the nonsmoking room

...wasn’t so impressed with the Atomic Bombshells, though. I think it was the host’s fault: he totally creeped me out. The ladies were pretty good.. I can’t blame them for their efforts. Get that freaky guy off the stage!!!

The bar was beautiful, however. I recommend giving this place a look-see if you’re interested. Friendly wait-staff and bartenders. Great atmosphere. Will attend again… but not on a Thursday night anytime soon.

Cocktails and pasties

The best thing about the Mirabeau room is that it has played host to the Atomic Bombshells burlesque for quite some time. It’s a perfect burlesque venue, just the right balance between swank and seedy.

Plus whoever invented their Cucumber Kamikaze cocktail is several kinds of genius.

Main room now non-smoking

It’s official! The main music, drinks and dining room is now non-smoking all the time. Two years back, The Mirabeau Room was called Sorry Charlie’s and was one of Seattle’s oldest, smokiest dive bars. A great joint where Howard Bulson played jazz piano nightly. Seattle’s wannabe and superstar singers would wait their turn to sing a couple numbers from the great American songbook with Howard backing them on the piano.

Fast forward to a couple years back when a group of us took the joint over, gutted it, renovated it and invited in a whole new generation of people. David started by making certain nights non-smoking in the main room. Now it’s non-smoking altogether with the back enclosed lounge remaining a smoking area. The smoking ban (I-901) may change that … but we’ll see.

Now, let’s go get some drinks!

I've been here (cough, cough)

If you like cigarette smoke and a drink this is a fine spot. If you are looking for some good music and some cigarette smoke, this is a good spot. I hear they might add a deck – which will be great, if you like to smoke on a deck or be next to someone who smokes. For some reason the Mirabeau Room is always in the press talking about how great it is that people can smoke in their club, close to their club, on the hypothetical deck of their club. This sounds great, if you are really into smoking.
