Pinatubo completely blew us out of our minds when we went there a few weeks ago. It is a breath taking sight! A short drive from Manila (about an 2 hours to Capas Tarlac) and you’ll be able to see this natural wonder. Going there is an adventure! We enjoyed the 4×4 drive admist the dunes and sandy riverbeds, going the to the base camp. From there, the trek (by foot) to the summit is not so difficult. A guide will assist in the trek. Supposedly, it will take you about 45 minutes to go up, but it took me and my friends an hour or so, but it was a good exercise. Going down is certainly much easier. Bring lots of water, energy food and a hat is a must. Upon reaching the summit, you will see Pinatubo’s crater and its lake with its turquoise water that changes from time to time. You will marvel at the serenity and tranquility of the place… like it has never offered such devastation to so many people. If you want a different adventure, go see Mt. Pinatubo! over 5 years ago |
