Skiatook

today is the annual pioneer day celebration. the parade has started and i can hear the bands playing as they go down the street. skiatook used to call it progress day, and later it was changed to pioneer day. a small carnival comes to town, the downtown stores will have sidewalk sales, and things for the kids to do. usually it is alot of fun for everyone. food, music, and drawings. pet show, beauty contest, hog calling and things of that nature. last year they had a tractor pull.

my mom lives here. she is a great artist. there are several great artists who live here. she has a painted pony on main street. it is blue, and sits in front of my aunts beauty shop. if you travel to skiatook, stop by and give it a rub, it is said to be lucky.
