I stayed in this formerly segregated “black township” for a short time when I was volunteering with organizations working to abolish apartheid in the 80’s. I think it was illegal for me to stay there, but I didn’t ask, or really care. I enjoyed being with the people there very much. I don’t know what it’s like now, but I hope I can visit again someday.
