News: What i'm gonna do  — 1 year ago

    Well…
you know those girls, who are always popular and skinny,
and are always wearing the latest trend.
    i’m not one of those.
i am the not so skinny person who is friends with all the non-populars, and who doesn’t wear the latest trend.
    i want to change that.
i’m aiming to be the pretty ( still non-popular, coz, lets face it, what does popular really mean? )
anywho, the Pretty, Skinny, Sporty nice person who wears what she wants, dislikes the Bimbo’s, and doesn’t follow any “trend”.

but, really, this is more for my self-confidence,
    i need a boost, seriously.
    i have no self-respect, self-confidence or self-asteem.
its becuase of the people at my school, constantly judging me,
    its really damaging.
but i’m gonna fix all that.
from now on, i am on a strict diet,
i’ll fill you in on all thats gonna happen in the future.
so, i haveto lose 7kg’s in two months.
this means that i have to exersize everyday,
    and eat only healthy food.
and at the end of each day, i will record everything i have done,
    and my wieght.
    so starting wieght is:
    65kg’s.
    current weight is:
    65 kg’s.
    Exersize today:
    None…(woops)
    motivation:
    okay
    Days left for diet:
    56.

It’s been years since I’ve been there. But I remember that no matter how many times I made the Sydney-Wollongong trip… the view from Bulli Pass made my heart stop every time. Truly awesome.

I stayed at the Boat Harbour Motel by the North beach. It is SSSOOO lovely. Beach views from the hotel room balcony. Just heaven. The beach is literally across the road. We would shower and get ready in the morning, walk out of the hotel and across the road and we were at the beach. There is a seafood shop right on the beach where you can eat at, or take-away to eat on the beach or on seats in a park area by the beach. I had the most beautiful tempura prawns I have ever eaten in my whole life from that shop. They were melt in the mouth. And the calamari was divine too!

I came here for a basketball carnival in about 1990, but didn’t realise it had great beaches in the surrounding areas till years later. I will have to go back some time to see them. I’ve heard they also have a big hindu temple that has nice mushrooms.

I was born here and spent 4 years overseas in Europe, London and South Africa and coming back here made me appreciate it. A really great place with a mix of scenery and cultures.

We Thought This Was Heaven  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Travelling in Australia, you are usually hard-pressed to decide if you want to see the coast or the mountains. Wollongong gives you both- and more!

I was checking this place out with my friends and we almost decided this was the place to stay. It had almost everything on our checklist of dream places- a lighthouse, cliffs, coast, mountains- small enough to feel homely, yet big enough to be a city of sorts.

If driving, one might like to head up to Mount Keira to the west of the city- the views from the lookouts are spectacular. And even though they discourage you from heading up there after nightfall, the scenery then is even more breathtaking (you didn’t hear it here).

For me, the lighthouse at flagstaff point summed up Wollongong- it is pretty much a place where the mountains meet the sea. Just try not to look at the smoke chimneys from the industrial region and it’s a masterpiece.
