Don't miss the best of the Gold Coast by rc0099
So many people come to the Gold Coast and follow the same well trodden path being Surfers Paradise, shopping, theme parks etc. And then some report back to say ‘oh, that place is so touristy’, ’it’s a glitter strip’ and so on.
They are right, but sadly they missed the best that the city offers just because they don’t know what the locals do.
One of my favorite places is Burleigh Heads (see pic: http://www.goldcoastinfo.net/aboutgc/suburbs/burleigh/) which has a beautiful sandy beach, public park with bbqs and amazing views especially at dusk.
Another favorite was Springbrook National Park, particulalrly the many waterfalls and outlooks.
Next favorite spot was Snapper Rocks at Coolangatta (more pics: http://www.goldcoastinfo.net/aboutgc/suburbs/coolangatta/) which is popular spot for surfing plus just amazing coastal views.
Next favorite was fishing in the many canals. Theres lots of public parks where you can get access to the waterways and have a relaxed day fishing.
Thats just a few!
