White Eagle Hotel

This is part of the McMenamins bars. This place used to be a brothel, and you can rent hotel rooms there now.

Downstairs there is a bar and restaurant and live music shows. When we went there the cover was $7 so we didn’t stay.

The house Ruby beer is delicious, and I haven’t had any of the food.

Hey, great food, drink and all types of music. You can get a bunk room for 30 bucks. The food is okay (I don’t do a lot of burger stuff-but good sandwiches) and the attitude is friendly with the workers and patrons. I have been there about 10 times and hear that it is haunted. Hey, that’s okay, I carry my Ruger 357 and will pump those ghosts full of lead!

Seriously, nice place. I truly enjoy the historic photos on the wall. Great old pix like older Portland and the Grand Ballroom. Portland, Oregon is one of my favorite cities and this is one of my favorite places! The only thing that is marginal is the beer-I have had better, but it is not bad. Of course, finding a good beer in this town is no problem AT ALL.
