Hotel Oregon

Hotel Oregon is a refurbished quaint hotel from the turn of the century. The rooms are small, but terrific reminders of how efficiently space can be used when building materials are at a premium.

The hotel is part of the McMenamins brothers chain of pubs, hotels, concert venues, and movie theaters refurbished for a new generation of life. The restoration has been lovingly undertaken, and the walls sport playful, informative spot paintings that make wandering the halls a joy.

The pub/restaurant on the first floor is terrific. They feature the McMenamins brewery beers and cider. Desserts, even in the middle of January, featured fresh Oregon berries. A true delight.

There is a movie theater across the street if you want to catch an early movie (the last start time is at 7 pm). And there’s a grocery down the street for packing a picnic lunch (or for picking up local fruitcake for the dog sitter!)
