Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I went shopping and got a full new wardrobe, tons of books, cds, and nice memories. Hot humid weather, though. Oh, and La Copa isn’t a very nice hotel (The room keys deactivate themselves like, everyday, the safe didn’t work, and the bathrooms had to be repaired because the air system didn’t work or something.) Better stay at the Holiday Inn, which is right across the street, and one street away from La Plaza Mall.

Visit the Barnes & Noble library!!

They also have very delcious food. (Try the Logan’s place. It’s got the best, tastiest peanuts EVER!!!)

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I live in McAllen, But staying in San Antonio for awhile. But, Mcallen has grown from time to time. Now, with the new stores opening up in the south side. The new convention center. Especially that 600,000 sq ft. of retail stores that will be opening sometime soon. Its about to just get better. An its just a calm loving place. I’ve been to different states an sometimes most people are not that friendly, here atleast you get your hello, how’s it going. To a random person you dont know. Other places its like hello. An they look at you like who the hell are you. I personally love Mcallen. Most people hate it, but, I will always love that place since it is my birth place. The only problem people won’t love, is the heat. But, hey we get use to it.

Was there a few weekends ago

for an art opening! Believe it or not—their little regional museum has it going on. Still, it’s hot and bright. If you don’t like tacos stay away (best.tacos.ever.)

I'm a native.

I’ve lived in McAllen for most of my life. I’ve seen it grow from around 30k to over 100k! You can now find many of the popular retailers, restaurant chains, and education.

McAllen is a great place to live, where the pace is picking up, but the traffic jams are VERY negligible.

Yes, it’s hot – VERY hot in July, August, and September, but we’re 65 inland from the Gulf of Mexico, so not too much of a threat from hurricanes, and yet you can get to the beach, to Mexico, and join the faster pace for a weekend in San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, or Houston.
