Stamford

Only if you are passing through. I wouldn’t spend money on airfare. It is close to NYC, and has some fun stuff to do, but nothing worth making a vacation out of.

Screw the touristy downtown area, go get some Mexican food at a corner store and wander around south of the train station. That’s where the real city is, screw the north end too.

It was rainy and crappy and the taxi drivers take forever.

I guess I’m a bit biased and didn’t see everything there is to see.. the Mariott was very nice though! =P

I was in Maine for a meeting & had to drive to Connecticut for another meeting which means that I was close enough to drive the 75 miles one way to Stamford. Yup – with the drive back to Farmington that means I did 450 miles yesterday! The great thing is that I got to see Annmarie’s and Jesse’s new house. It is adorable. We made dinner together and had a great visit. Next visit I will get to see more of Stamford itself but so far, so good.

They closed in late AUGUST, moved in early SEPTEMBER (Labor Day) and here is is almost NOVEMBER and I am the only one in the family who has not been yet. To be fair, I spent 2 weeks in September in London, Annmarie (sister in question) was in Nape when I got back and then I just had a trip to Los Angeles on top of which I travel A LOT for work so I have just not been able to swing it, but STILL - I have got to get down there SOON.

I went here for a jewish holiday, great strong energy. I loved the coastal feel too.
