Peoria

Somehow I hadn’t managed to get to Peoria, despite living in Illinois for much of my life.

Admittedly, I didn’t spend lots of time here, but it was much nicer than I had expected. I had been thinking Rockford, but dingier. Wrong-o.

I didn’t get to check out the riverfront area, so I’ll have to get back. I did get to see a hockey game with some very enthusiastic fans. Wow. They do love their team there.

Yes, I went to Peoria and I had so much fun!

Adams Street Cafe is the best place to have lunch. Try their vegetarian sandwich with their homemade chips. Delicious.

I also like the art museums. The Contemporary Art Center was so much fun and I took a lot of pics for my blog.

Went here to visit Spaniel, who’s living here for a year. It’s like Illinois’ version of Albany. Just a plain old city trying to get something going. The riverfront’s alright. But when the wind blows the right way, the city smells like hot dogs. There’s some farms just outside town. Liked the giant antique store near the riverfront area. Also, the Botanical Garden was good, and so was Steak & Shake, but that goes without saying.

i was born in peoria and have lived in nearby washington my wholelife constantly visiting peoria. peoria’s nightlife involves a few clubs where there is a small downtown scene of people trying to get fucked every weekend, but dont stray too far or youll surely get mugged. absolutely nothing to do for kids because all there is to do is get drunk. stay the fuck out

Caterpillar, Inc is headquartered here and dominates the economic landscape. The company reserves entire floors of the old time, sorta cool/sorta dumpy Pere Marquette hotel. The town gets pretty worked up over some elaborate Christmas lighting displays.

Nice little town.

I used to spend a lot of time here when I lived in IL. We always managed to find things to do and have fun. Midwesterners are my peeps.

This place is horrible. Once you come here you are stuck here. You can never get out. It is dirty. The people are rude and close minded. The river is gross and there are way to many ACDC fans.

Unless you really enjoy riverfront casinos, there is NOTHING to do in Peoria.
