How this place changed my life  — 4 months ago

If you want to learn anything about eco-living, Eugene is the place to be. I spent 4 years here and have learned more about sustainable, green, eco – whatever- living here than I have anywhere else. Not only is it a gorgeous town, but it is bike friendly and has quick access to climbing and hiking. The town is super bike friendly and if you’re in the mood, you can take a bike tour with eco-specialist Jan Spencer. One thing to note: it rains more in Eugene than it does in Seattle. Who knew?

Worth visiting!

I went to Eugene to work with my new programming team for a couple of months back in 1997. Great place with an excellent public transportation, but I had a real hard time connecting with people.

Worth visiting!

Eugene is one of the few memories I have of my dad. We used to go bike riding together all over the place. I also remember that there was a neighborhood swimming pool that my brother and sister and I would go to.

I have a lot of fond memories of Eugene and it is one of the places I hope to live in again!

Worth visiting!

we had intended on stopping in portland, but by the time we got out of redding we were exhausted and forgot all about the people we knew who lived there. while hanging around at the portland bus station, i ran into an old travelling buddy i had met in great falls, montana, who was on his way to portland from eugene. he had room mates and a trailer in eugene and hooked us up with his people. we ended up staying for two weeks, smoking way too much pot, using food stamp cards, hanging out in logan square and meeting some kids from mobile alabama where we were originating. it was a lot of fun, but waaaaaaaaaay too many neo-hippies. the buses were awesome and so was the library and woo!

Not worth it!

Nice place to live if you are going to UO, but it’s not worth visiting on its own.
