    Worth visiting!

Shreveport has chnaged my life because in order to go to a club you have to be 21+, I live here so i dont like it. For people that are 21+ they’ll like it because there’s so much to do.

A review of this place: don't underestimate Louisiana's second city!  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I lived here from 2002 to 2004 and I loved it!!! Shreveport has all the things a big city has, pro sports, symphony, opera, great food, great walking down town, but it doesn’t have the crowds of the big city. Also I found mountain biking trails in the woods that I used for over a year and NEVER saw another individual. If you get the chance give Shreveport a visit. Eat a Botatoe at Bodacious BBQ on Barksdale Rd. Eat a crawfish quesadilla at Superior Bar and Grill on Line Ave. You will not regret either (unless you are a health freak).

The last time I went to this place  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

...I had gumbo for the first time. Now this is not entirely true—I’d had gumbo before at other places. But when I was visiting my friend Sarah she took me over to one of her favorite places to eat and said that I had to have the gumbo there, because there was no way I could have had it properly anywhere else, outside of Louisiana at least. I had no reason to doubt this—and she was right, it utterly rocked. (Now I just need to remember the name of the restaurant.)

This city is poop. I spent most of my life there, and I’m glad I rarely have to return. Everything is stagnant, except for the crime rate.

The few “nice” areas mostly consist of the areas leading to and immediately surrounding the casinos. You’ll find out quickly just how bad the city is if you go just a block or two away from a main street leading to a casino.

Father stationed here in 1968  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

My father retired from the Army in 1969 and moved us from Shreveport Louisiana to Quinlan Texas where they first rented a house and then in 1970 they built a home on property right next door to where we lived. My dad was stationed in Leesville Louisiana right outside of Shreveport. I was only 8 years old at this time in my life but I remember a hamburger joint and yellow police cars with large red beacons on top. I also remember a friend named Jack who lived across the street and having to rake pine cones over and over again.

DJLifey asks, “My wife and I are moving to Shreveport from the crime ridden city of Houston. My parents live in S'port and I love visiting because the town is quiet, but there are things to do. I need a job for 6 months. Any ideas?”
