Great city by Mike Wilson

I only stopped for one day — I was on my first tour of the Deep South. I didn’t know which places I would like, so planned to stay one day at each location. This is one place I would visit again and stay longer. Many opportunities to listen to great blues music and eat good food.

Untitled by Kinley

I spent a lot of time in 1986 and the ‘90s on the Northside with my aunt who lives near Ridgeland. I recommend Swensen’s Ice Cream in a certain strip mall, but I can’t remember its name, address, or directions. I also have a great aunt who lived in another part of the city until someone(s) broke into her house and left knives in her bed among the other frightening and mysterious things done. So she moved.

Passing Through by dlchick

We were on our way to the Gulf, and just passed through. Now that I see pictures, I really wish I would have taken time to explore! We stayed in Ridgeland, which is pretty much North Jackson.

Kid Rock sang about it!! by TXrOADkING

It was 4th of July weekend 2004 and I had 5 days off!! Kid MF’n Rock sang about this place.. so I went and checked it out..

My first road trip ALL By myself.. LOVED IT!!

At first the place looked kinda runned down. The mall I was at was EMPTY and didn’t have very good looking stores or people in it… I checked out a local music store and didn’t get much from the employees… I thought I’d leave and go to Vicksburg.. BUT first I wanted to at least eat at a local restaurant.. I found one on the OTHER side of town, I can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it was tremidilously good, the waiter was cool so I asked what I should check out before I left.. I checked out the lil cafe/bar he suggested then made my way over to a local bar.. It had a very cool, Emo? feel(First time I heard that word was there) Everyone seemed to be so buddy buddy with each other and eventually I found a very sweet girl, told her my story of being there and had fun with her and her friends.. I also check out a gathering at the bar at the local minor league baseball team’s stadium (The Senators, Smith-Willis Stadium [I found a pic]; I’d like to go back during season and see them play). I also visited the Harley Davidson shop, it was raining and them folks were cool! I still have the T-Shirt and Koozie I bought… And the helmet, but no longer the bike..?

A good time was had and I’d like to make my way there again. I don’t remember the names of the places I visited but I do remember the sweet and pretty Keleigh who made my visit enjoyable.
