when i was a senior our girl scout troop (all two of us that were left) went to DC for the weekend after we graduated from high school.
i had never been despite growing up in virginia beach so since there were only two of us, we went everywhere
i dont think ive seen so many people at a cemetary before, but it was neat to think that such historic figures are all in one spot, plus its a good hike if you see the whole thingover 6 years ago
I live here. I can throw a ball into the cemetery from my front yard and walk my dog by Henderson Hall where the bugle blows for flag ceremonies every morning and evening. The Netherlands Carillion bongs out the hour like churchbells. It is a strange place, both sad yet vibrant and alive.
There is an intense reverence here.over 7 years ago
