One of my life goals is to see each MLB team play in its homefield and I thought the city was beautiful so I’m coming back soon to see a Cardinals game AND ride the Arch since I didn’t get to :( about 1 year ago1st visit to Missouri by MFMThe drive from Chicago is under 5 hours and a straight shot down 55. When I entered St Louis I changed to I64 and came around ther corner to a direct and breathtaking view of the Gateway Arch – astounding. How I satyed on the road as I passed right by in my car is unknown! over 2 years agoAmerica in Bloom Awards and Symposium by TravelinFrankJust returned from an excellent convention in St. Louis. Kudos to the Parks Department for a beautiful downtown. Keiner Park and the City Gardens are something to be proud of! We also thoroughly enjoyed our “Taste of St. Louis” evening. Great food samplings. Loved the Schlafly Oktoberfest beer. The music on the Blues stage, and the Main Stage on Friday night was excellent! If you enjoy blues, we had two excellent evenings at BB’s Blues, Jazz and Soup, and Beale on Broadway. Looking forward to a return visit soon. Cheers! over 2 years agoSt. Louis is a Great City by zgareSt. Louis is a Great City to visit for families.
This is the City Museum in downtown St. Louis. Be sure and visit, especially if you have kids.
And, of course, the Magic House children’s museum. Then take in all the free things, like the World Famous St. Louis Zoo. (Parking in Forest Park is free, or you can park in the lot for a small fee. Entry is free.)
Along with the free Science Center, the free Art Museum, the free Grants Farm, the free Anheuser Busch Brewery tour, and the new free City Garden sculpture park downtown.
And of course the other usual attractions: Six Flags Amusement Park and Hurricane Harbor Water Park, Forest Park, the Fabulous Fox Theater, Ted Drewes, the MUNY, the Botanical Gardens, the Great River Road drive and ferry boats along the Mississippi River, Missouri wine country, 30 minutes west of St. Louis, and the U-City Loop entertainment district. And of course there is always baseball or a trip to the top of the Gateway Arch. See all 168 entries |
