What I enjoyed about living here
I lived here a few years, when you get over the land-locked-nes s of it, you start to find it’s perks. You’ll find the most exotic bunch of people near riverside. Woodward park is a great place for photos, as seen below. Also check out the center of the universe downtown.

Why I want to go to this place
I don’t know why, but I’ve become fixated on going to Tulsa. It seems so exotic in a mundane sort of way. I don’t know.
Anyway, I’ll probably even do it next spring. I want to go to the Philbrook, scope out the Art Deco and watch the Drillers play ball.

A review of this place: Santino's
Went to this place at the strip mall on the northwest corner of 71st and Memorial on Labor Day, after searching all over Tulsa for a decent Italian place that was open. The service was good, the food was excellent. The wine list had a good number of excellent choices, and the staff was friendly and helpful. (Note to restaurant help at other places: when you are asked questions about wine that you don’t know the answer to, “I don’t really know, I’d have to ask” is much preferred over pretense.) All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, albeit the karaoke singers from the bar might not be as enjoyable to some as they were to us.

A review of this place: Not what I expected..
Tulsa happened as a last-minute thing. My brother invited me to go with him to the Chili Bowl at the Tulsa Expo Center (Quiktrip Center). The Chili Bowl is a popular midget indoor auto race held in January.
I had no idea what to expect from Tulsa. I was pleasantly surprised! We spent every day there exploring the area. The people were friendly and the architecture was interesting. I don’t know what it’s like to live there, but it is worth a visit. Oh, and if you like kitsch, the Golden Driller and the Catoosa Blue Whale (rte 66 outside of the city) are must-sees.
Tried Whataburger for the first time. Eh. Ate at Elmer’s BBQ – good food!
Oh, and if you like to take photos of old 50’s style neon signs and art deco buildings, this place is for you!

I live here!
I think growing up near Tulsa is what engendered my love of big cities. Even though Tulsa is not a big city, it has a good city feel and it was always the place to go when we needed to do shopping, go to the dentist, etc. So to me cities are where action and activity are, where you go to get things you can’t get elsewhere, etc.
If you’re ever passing through it’s worth stopping in Tulsa and visiting! Downtown has some great art deco buildings, too!
