    Worth visiting!

Tulsa happened as a last-minute thing. My brother invited me to go with him to the Chili Bowl at the Tulsa Expo Center (Quiktrip Center). The Chili Bowl is a popular midget indoor auto race held in January.
I had no idea what to expect from Tulsa. I was pleasantly surprised! We spent every day there exploring the area. The people were friendly and the architecture was interesting. I don’t know what it’s like to live there, but it is worth a visit. Oh, and if you like kitsch, the Golden Driller and the Catoosa Blue Whale (rte 66 outside of the city) are must-sees.
Tried Whataburger for the first time. Eh. Ate at Elmer’s BBQ - good food!

Oh, and if you like to take photos of old 50’s style neon signs and art deco buildings, this place is for you!

I think growing up near Tulsa is what engendered my love of big cities. Even though Tulsa is not a big city, it has a good city feel and it was always the place to go when we needed to do shopping, go to the dentist, etc. So to me cities are where action and activity are, where you go to get things you can’t get elsewhere, etc.

If you’re ever passing through it’s worth stopping in Tulsa and visiting! Downtown has some great art deco buildings, too!

Not a bad place to live  — 7 months ago

    Worth visiting!

I have lived here since 2003 and I like it much better than OKC. There is good and bad to say about anywhere but what I like is that it looks nice overall.

My favorite places here are the zoo, PF Chang’s, Lanna Thai, the book stores, Utica Square and Reasor’s grocery stores.

I absolutely loved visiting Tulsa, OK. My friends and I went there practically on a whim to see a Hanson concert and explore the city, and I pretty much fell in love with the people there and the atmosphere. The city is very welcoming and we had long, cheerful conversations with practically everyone we met! Plus the Mexican food is great :) The weather was also beautiful. And of course the Hanson concert was fantastic!

    Worth visiting!

I admit, there are many, many times that I am embarassed to be from Oklahoma. Also, my husband and I are planning to move east as soon as we finish our Bachelor’s degrees. As I have said many times, Tulsa would be a wonderful city, if it wasn’t in Oklahoma. Tulsa as a whole can be very backward, conservative, old-fashioned, and even opressive. However, there are hidden gems to be discovered all over the city and some not so hidden as well. Downtown has stunning architecture and it would be easy to spend hours walking around down there looking at the intricate and unique buildings. The Tulsa Ballet is wonderful, the zoo is awesome, and Cherry St. and Brookside can almost make you feel like you live in a normal city. The Cherry St. farmer’s market is amazing! And I have to say when I do leave, I will sorely miss the lovely little coffee shops, Saffron, Gypsy and Shades of Brown.

    Not worth it!

Tulsa is the place that got forgotten when the rest of the world started moving. The people are strange, the city is strange and if u can go thru life without ever going there, DO SO!

If you love ice cream, you have to visit Braum’s! They have the best ice cream. Up where i live they mostly only have frozen custard. So if you love real good ice cream, deff. visit there.

The last time I went to this place  — 2 years ago

Unfortunately, I think I have only been here for funerals of family members. Tulsa for me is associated with mourning and I doubt I’ll be back unless another such occasion arises. :(
