We got a great discount at the Raphael Boutique Hotel at Country Club Plaza. So we did some shopping there, and also visited the Nelson Atkins Museum, which is very nice. The new wing is interesting, and of course the museum has one of the 3 giant Monet Water Lillies paintings. Then we ate dinner at the Power & Light district downtown. They were setting up for a free concert outdoors at KC Live. The next day we went to the River Market area, and toured the Steamboat Arabia museum. Amazing amount of stuff from 1856 found on a sunken steamboat in the middle of a cornfield, that used to be part of the Missouri river. Saturday night we saw the Chiefs play their first pre-season game. It was raining, but fun anyway. KC is one of my favorite cities to visit in the Summertime.

I want to plan a vacation there and am hoping to have nice warm temps plus great music, food, sight seeing. Any recs?” over 5 years agoKate23 asks,“Is Kansas City a family friendly city?
