i’ve been here more than once. a couple of times for some concerts and most recently for a psych convention. i’ve never really had a great time here, and we even bar crawled a bit the last time we were there.

it always seems a bit shady. yet, i will say, i’ve never explored it extensively.

I was born in KCK! It is growing and becoming alive with more attractions. See a T-Bones minor league baseball game or watch some racing on the KS Speedway!

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

Kansas City is a hidden treasure. Most locals know what a great city it is to live in, for its art, culture, music, architecture, shopping, lifestyle and of course barbecue. The city is also known as the city of fountains and statues due to their abundance, especially in the country club area of town. I lived in Kansas City for over a year and really loved it. I lived in Merriam and worked in Lenexa, then Olathe, then Kansas City, KS, and finally Kansas City, Missouri, and all were accessable within 35 minutes of driving. I loved the parks, bike trails and water features that are everywhere in the city.

    Worth visiting!

Next year I’m leaving for college and I’m beginning to realize how much I will miss KC. I used to see those “most livable communities” signs and be like, “WHAT? who in their right minds would say that?” but now I know…you just have to live here. I don’t really think it would be a good place to visit because a visitor would get caught up in doing things like shopping at the Plaza, which are fine, but nothing special. But once you live here…you know all these secret little places and it’s wonderful. And I love how people know each other. I feel like in a larger city I could of course find cool little places, but I wouldn’t know anyone.

The other day I was in Westport in front of a café talking to some kids sitting on the street. Later I was at the Plaza and saw them again, just coincidentally. That night, I saw them at a restaurant…again, complete coincidence.

And I love barbeque. KC is a great place to live.

    Worth visiting!

I was so surprised at how great this city is, in the middle of nowhere, Middle America.

    A lot of fun.

It supposedly has the very first (and well kept up) outdoor mall (which is the downtown area?). A fun city.

Everyone in the grocery stores, target, malls are fat. That was shocking to notice.

I would consider moving here. My brother (who is pretty cool) lives here and I can see why.
