It looks amazing I want to take a trip out this summer and see just how bad the heat is and if I can stand it, and if I can I really may try moving here and see if it could be that place I’ve been looking for.

Tucson native, lived here 23 yrs before moving up to Denver. I’m back usually every year or two to visit family. Happy to help anyone find the good restaurants, etc.
It’s a great place, feels like a little town, avoid it from about May – late Aug unless you like > 100° weather. :) Perfect in March/April for spring. Anyway, lots of rich, Hispanic and Native American cultural influences.
The views of the desert in e.g. Saguaro Nat’l Monument or out west on the way to Old Tucson / Desert Museum are pretty amazing. Lots of great destinations in and near. Can’t miss “The White Dove of the Desert” San Xavier Mission. Sabino Canyon is great for hiking.
Also lots to see within a couple hours’ drive. If you can possibly see Karchner Caverns (reserve way way ahead of time) it is a must see.
And of course there’s the Sonoran Mexican style food. No place better for it, I think.

i was ‘backpacking’ and found there were a lot of ‘backpackers’ who would winter there. reality: a lot of hippies and gutterpunks because it’s so moderate in cooler months. there was a lot of black tar heroin being used by the street community. people were friendly, but i definitely only saw one side of life when i was there, and it was at least a little bleak.

It is a magical place! there is hidden energy beneath the rocks and in the strange little shops. Drink lots of water, wear a big hat, and explore!!

Fun place to visit. I was with the Indiana university pepband performing for the NCAA tourney. A great trip, great places to visit and great people. There is just so much to do that I cannot even begin to tell you everything. Just go and be surprised…Maybe do like we did and play a little miniature golf as well.

I moved here from Bowling Green, Kentucky. Of course I miss kentucky like crazy! But, Its a great fantastic place. Your surrounded by moutains! So So gorgeous! I will never live in a place where I can’t see the moutains here. So many places to visit in the town also. Traffic can be a pain though. There are some fantasic places to eat here. The people can be a little strange but you can expect that anywhere you go.

2nd street, 2nd Ave. Shit can’t even remember where I was. It rained, most nights, and most days too. The smokes were cheaper, the people kinda trickier, In the People with their trailers. 1800-OUR-Town, Does it still exist, was it even there, was it all apart of my lapsed imagination? Who knows and who cares. We threw a party, and all the kids were invited. We cooked up a feast, for all the kids on the streets. Took em’ in , gave them showers, and a place to lay their head. Gave them bread, and memories to fill their head. Most ,memories they faded, My visions they invaded, the spots, those damn cops and their silly town laws. I wouldn’t give to do it again, not the way I used to live. Maybe in the future, I will remember Tuscon forever.
