A truly special place by Jalice2

How do you describe Portland?

I loved this town. I was only there for two months and of all the places I’ve been, I felt the most at home and the most like I’ve found the place I want to end up. Expressive, quirky, environmentally and community conscientious Portland! I <3 Portland!

Painfully cliquey, and the weather sucks. by David Jack

Portland is a very cliquey place that is very fascist about whether or not you fit in with the city’s image. Also, the state in general HATES outsiders and newcomers — particularly from California.

It’s soggy and dark around nine months out of the year, and the odds of an outsider finding a job there are slim to none unless you are very well-connected with the shi-shi postmodern cliquester social circles.

If you want to get the best idea of the kind of people who live in Portland, go to YouTube and watch the video called “Hipster Olympics”. Portland is totally ruled by uber-nasty hipster fascists.

Passed through by Derrick Means

I was driving from Washington State to southern California and the I 5 freeway runs through the middle of the town. Though I didnt get a chance to stop I really admired the place. It was beautiful. A couple bridges and freeways winding over waterways below through the maajor metro areas. Of the many buildings there the ones that caught my eye were downtown. Several matching builiding all with emerald green glass window outers for its structure.

Portland Oregon, An Amazing Place by Raymond Marr

Except for the idea that most of the year there is rain, that aside last I was here I had an opportunity to explore a very fine restaurant right by the Amtrak Station, as I am a person who truly enjoys train travel over plane travel.

I understand also that Oregon is very much a good place for bicycling, so my next trip there I really think I should ride my bike there as it is also along the Pacific Coast Trail after you leave from Vancouver, BC.
