If you’re a sports fan, then Baltimore is a great place. Camden Yards is one of the finest Ball Parks created. Fell’s Point is a great place to lose yourself and can be reached from the Inner Harbor via water ferry. I love how violent every one makes the place out to be. It’s got its rougher denizens, but generally you’re not going to get robbed en route to Dulaney Valley or the Towson Town Center (TTC) via The Avenue At White Marsh. Besides, all the violent crime just helps to keep Johns Hopkins in tip-top shape.
It’s also the place to learn how to properly eat a crab and how crab-cakes are supposed to taste.
I dig Baltimore. It’s cool. I’m not afraid of it. I live in New York City and I grew up in Detroit. Baltimore has a wonderful art scene. It even has great free museums, totally free!
Plus I love Edgar Allan Poe so I trace his footsteps when I can and he took many steps around Baltimore
Not really! Actually I have never been to Baltimore and don’t ever plan on coming. Baltimore has been #1 for being the most violent city in the U.S. What other places in the U.S. would you like to recommend? Maybe Camden, NJ? Wow, I think I’ll stick to D.C. !

I’ve lived in the area for a good seven years, and I love it. Yes, the city is a bit dirty, and violent, but it somehow still manages to be charming. I look forward to going back to it in between jobs.
“I'm relocating to Baltimore area and would appreciate any suggestions for resources (where to live, where to hang out). Blogs, web pages, books, personal experiences. I'm willing to trade advice about Seattle or Minneapolis.”
