Parts of Juarez are quite pretty and worth seeing. There is, however great poverty in Juarez — as in most Mexican cities, so be prepared to see dramatic differences between the very rich and the very poor. Unfortunately, most American tourists only see the “main drag” of tourist shops and clubs on Juarez Avenue and think they have experienced Juarez. Not true.

but of course it worth visiting! …it’s a wonderful border city; it’s full of culture contrasts, popular art, & good food …and well… it has violence and poor people, but what city doesn’t have that?….
