Even tho this is a thirdworld country…People are very warm and kind and there are amazing landscapes, Bruce Willis, P Diddy , Brad Pitt, Enrique Iglesias, have been here and loved it all!

And the fun is with dominican people, it doesn’t matter where you’re going if you are with one dominican you can have lotsa fun!

When you think Caribe, think Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo is not the most exotic or beautiful place to visit, but I enjoyed being there because you really got to see life as it is there. The people are poor and I experienced a few blackouts while I was there. I also witnessed how Haitians were treated in comparison to DR natives. However, it was very refreshing to hear the constant sounds of merengue instead of American pop music. There wasn’t a great deal of American commercialism, which is quite rare these days.

I stayed at the Sofitel. The hotel is beautiful and very affordable. I highly recommend the hotel’s restaurant.

Don’t forget to purchase your rum from one of the supermercados before you leave!
