Peshawar

If you really want to know the real Pakistani culture, the real Pathan culture and many other cultures from NWFP, Peshawar is the right place. Be careful if you are a woman travelling solo. Sharwal Kamiz is a must if you don’t want people starring at you.

The city is a bit chaotic, messy and full of dust. But the scenery of the mountains nearby and the hospitality of local people are priceless. I strongly recommend a visit to this place!

An exciting wild adventure sums it up for Peshawar, travel through the kyber Pass or wander through the mad bazzars. Language barrier makes it hard work but worth it at the end of day. If you are interested in the production of illigal guns then a trip to a local tribal village where u can take photo’s and fire all sorts of weapons. This is the place where Micheal Pallin shot one of his bits in his travel programe. be aware that you are not allowed to go there so your insurance is invalid (not that it is in pakistan anyhow). since the danish cartoons were published probably not the best time to go.
however the people of pakistan are super friendly despite what the media may lead us to believe. safe travels.

This is possibly the most vibrant and beautiful part of Pakistan. Pathans are friendly and welcoming people. They treat their vistors like kings and will remember them forever.
