Kota Kinabalu

I was here on a one-night stopover with my mother, who still has relatives there through her mother. It was beautiful; the perfect juxtaposition between mountain and sea.

The resorts looked lavish and tempting. Shopping and eating out were cheap. Loads of eco-tourism activities. I’m definitely coming back for a proper trip.

The people were very nice. The most striking and beautiful sunrise I have ever seen. It’s been over ten years but the city was at the time, well, depressing. Even more so the stick villiage at the Shell fueling port we docked at.

Try whitewater rafting, river cruise and the Kinabalu hike!

Only 5 Minutes Drive away to Kota Kinabalu International Airport

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is the Capital City of Land Below the Wind.

2 Hours Drive to the South East Asian Highest Mountain called the Mount Kinabalu.

15 Minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu City to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (where Manukan Island, Mamutik Island etc..)

Tons of 5 Star Hotel to choose from Sutera Harbour Resort & Hotel, Shangri-La Hotel, Hyatt Hotel, Tg.Aru Resort.

Local Craft Sale, or Modern Shopping Mall.

Nightlife is enjoyable too… Tg. Aru Beach, Water Front, Beach Street, Shennanigans etc….

Everyday, lots of New Skaters gather around in Red Square Park & Likas Bay SkatePark.

p/s:beware of Illegal Immigrant Street Kids, if anyone of y’all thinking of eating in a stall especially in Anjung Senja & KK Market. Other Stall are safe.

Had the privilege to attend a “sales meeting” in Kotakinabalu some years ago. I really liked it! I would LOVE to go back.

I was here for many times coz working near of KK City..There is exciting and interesing places to go..

For those who are want to go shopping can visit Centre Point,Karamunsing Complex,KK Plaza Complex,Wisma Merdeka,Wawasan Plaza and also new shopping complex in progress..

Where to stay? I recommended go to Sutera Harbour Hotel, Promenade Hotel or Beverly Hotel..Its worthy..

Kota Kinabalu is a great base from which to see the rest of Sabah. It is not the most beautiful town but the people are great, the food is awesome and it’s easy to navigate. (And the sunsets are stunning!)

I lived here for a couple of years… It’s a good place with great people…
